Just yesterday (July 30, 2026), I was offered the Senior Academic Advisor position at the University of New Mexico to which I greatly accepted with a nearly 50% salary increase. I will expect a confirmation email sometime today. The plan is to be in Albuquerque between the end of August and the end of September since we are getting ready for the new semester at Rust College that will take place over two weeks starting this coming Monday, August 3. The next steps are to complete tax information and furnish photo identification along with a voided check for direct deposit. This will be a great lateral move for me, and I will expand my career and become not only a mentor to students and other advisors, but an effective supervisor. I believe all reference checks have been made and there will not be anything that will rescind the offer. I am ready for the next chapter of my life to begin!
